WHAT IS SPIRITUAL GROWTH & HOW TO GROW SPIRITUALLY

spiritual growth

Wondering what spiritual growth is and how to use it?

Spirituality is when ordinary people live solely through their ego, while extraordinary people rise above consciousness.

What is ego? And how can many rise above consciousness to find a deeper meaning in their life? So many questions start popping up.

Grab your journal and a pen to continue so you can start giving yourself the life you’ve dreamed of!

I am not going to say it is going to be easy (I think by now no one can ever guarantee you anything in life without the capability of your personal values, tenacity, and motivation to pursue your life’s desires)

All this post can do is provide you with the tools and resources to get yourself started. Lucky for you you already have one of the most important tools which is you!

You need to tell yourself, “I GOT THIS”, “I CAN DO IT”, “I WILL DO IT”, “I HAVE DONE IT”

Most of my spiritual concepts revolve back into manifesting.

Manifesting is simply terms is obtaining the things you have thought about having and wanting out of and from your life into your physical reality. It can be tangible or intangible.

You may want to manifest having a better mindset which is not something you can touch, however, you can think about the version of you would think these different thoughts. Or, you may want to manifest a house or car, and imagine yourself on that holiday trip you have been wanting to take for a while now.

Whatever it is – it’s something that you want.

So what’s stopping you?

Fear of not begin good enough, not having enough money, enough experience? The list goes on and on. And it stems from our beliefs in ourselves that we built upon since inception.

There is only one thing that I can possibly only ever guarantee anyone in this life when it comes to spiritual growth and it’s that we will all go through it differently. The concepts and practices is how we can move about obtaining our growth spiritually.

Whether you pray to God, Allah, Krisha, Orishas, or a variety of cultural beliefs and religions what ties us together and makes us all connected is our faith. Faith in what?

That is up to you. By not thinking about life in this sense you hinder your own life be neglecting this aspect of yourself and staying stuck in a minimal mundane world. I get it, we all are not going to be able to live consciously which is a shame because it can be a more meaningful and deeper fulfilled life.

Now that you have gone through my rant I hope you got that pen and paper handy to get you started on a new journey to your new upgraded, elevated self.

WHAT IS SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Spiritual growth is an extremely unique journey in how one perceives, experiences, and reacts to one’s own life – retrospectively – from the world around them.

It is a deeper inner knowing of a oneness that connects us all. It is gratitude and a patient understanding of something greater than us all while also humbling ourselves to our own unique greatness that we choose to live by in this realm (earth).

It’s a release of allowing yourself to be who you are. Allowing evolution to take its place.

WHAT SPIRITUAL GROWTH LOOKS LIKE

Spiritual growth has a few characteristics that can look like this:

  • A new perspective of thinking
  • Vibrant and lively
  • Secluding yourself from others
  • Hermit-like stages
  • Speaking truth
  • More confident
  • A more authentic you

WHAT SPIRITUAL GROWTH FEELS LIKE

The feeling of spiritual growth reaps its benefits after going through the phases which may not always be known or feel good at the time. I state the dark and light to only allow you to notice that spiritual growth is not all those good feelings many may associate with it.

The dark and light aspects of spirituality make for the experience that one goes through to have a balance, think of the yin and yang.

The dark aspect of Spiritual growth may feel like:

  • You are drowning in your own sorrow
  • Battles are all alone
  • Questioning yourself
  • Crying and depressive state
  • Realizing delusions
  • Destruction all around
  • Not feeling like you are catching a break

The light aspects of Spiritual growth may feel like:

  • Invincible
  • Healing
  • Refreshing
  • Living more in your true authentic self
  • Retracting yourself from negativity knowingly and unknowingly
  • Free-spirited and free flowing
  • Calm and revived

Now that you have a better idea of what spiritual growth is and how it may feel like in your life let’s go over the steps on how to grow spiritually.

8 STEPS ON HOW TO GROW SPIRITUALLY

These 8 steps are not to limit you to just 8, it’s to allow you to expand to more if called to. Open yourself up to follow these steps on your journey in life to live it more meaningful and deeper.

STEP 1: EMBRACE YOUR FAITH

Write down what it is your belief systems are and what your views are on them.

1. Take time to figure yourself out, and find hobbies and crafts you can partake in.
2. Be convicted in your beliefs while also being open-minded to a grander view.
3. How has your faith grown within the past few years?

How do you see your life overall at this point in time? Take time to reflect on your faith in the concept of life, death, and your materialistic world.

STEP 2: PRACTICE GRATITUDE

This tip is extremely important and must be done in life to get from it what it is you truly want.

1. Write down each morning and/or night three things you are grateful for in your journal.
2. What have you said thank you for today?

Put your gratitude into practice by actively sending a thank you out into the world. Say thank you each day waking up, and before bed. Thank you for any purchases or items you buy.

How can God bless you with anything else if you do not show you are grateful for the things you already have?

STEP 3: EMBRACE THE SOLITUDE THAT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER

You encounter moments in your life where you may feel abandoned, or alone. These feelings are normal and are meant to awaken other aspects of yourself in this solitude.

1. How do I feel when I am not around people?
2. What do I think about the most when I am in these moments of solitude?
3. Have I given myself time to be alone with my thoughts and reflect on the day, week, month, year, etc? If not, why? How steps can you take to ensure you give you – you time?

And, to see the aloneness as something that will only help you grow closer to your faith in this journey. Faith in your beliefs and in yourself.

STEP 4: EMBRACE THE LESSONS IN YOUR LIFE

Learn and take in lessons in your life that you may have rejected or neglected. Embrace to lessons you have learned and continue to give yourself credit for continuing this journey.

STEP 5: WRITE YOUR LIFE IN A JOURNAL

Your thoughts and words matter. Journaling may become therapeutic for you and you may want to set time aside to see how this can benefit your life.

STEP 6: REST, YOU’RE GOING TO NEED IT

We are not robots and your body needs rest. It functions off of rest. I am not sure who started the trend for it to be cool to just always have your body engine running on full mode all the time.

Everyone has their own version of rest so find whatever it is that works for you.

Not everyone needs 8 or 9 hours of sleep. Get to know your body and understand what works best for your body and mind.

STEP 7: CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES

There is always a battle that is begin fought. Whether internally, externally, or spiritually. Choose your battles, and choose them wisely.

STEP 8: MEDITATION AND PRAYER

Prayer and meditation may keep you grounded, which is needed. You need a space to call you back to the center, a ritual of praying or meditating for better piece of mind.

This journey is not going to be for everyone – but if it is something you have chosen for yourself then work on implementing this step more often in your life.

WHY YOU SHOULD GROW SPIRITUALLY

It gives you a chance to become more active and engaged with the world around you. You engage with people, nature, animals, and things … all things that are surrounding you on a deeper level.

Take this time when growing spiritually to absorb as much energy as possible, internally and externally. Consciousness and subconsciously.

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GROW SPIRITUALLY:

This journey comes with its benefits and they are definitely worth the journey.

REASON 1:

TRUTH VS LIES. You start seeing and noticing the world around you with a different perspective.

REASON 2:

MORE AUTHENTIC VERSION OF YOU. You get to be the version of who you have always envisioned yourself to be.

I think a lot of people ignore the importance of the rest. If you cannot guarantee a good amount of sleep, it is very hard to keep up during the day. I could not agree more with what this blog says
